Bad Uncle: John Stamos Wanted The Olsen Twins Off “Full House”

This just in: the beloved, perfectly coiffed uncle Jesse HAD IT OUT for Michelle! In an interview regarding the upcoming Lifetime docu-movie “The Unauthorized ‘Full House’ Story,” John Stamos admitted that he wasn’t particularly fond of working alongside the Olsen twins, as they were hired as literal blubbering babies, and he urged show producers to search for other options.

Stamos said: “It’s sort of true the Olsen twins cried a lot, it was really hard to get the shot.”

This just confirms my deep dark suspicions that John Stamos has always been too glamorous for the patient and domesticated life of being an uncle. Honestly, what did he, what did anyone on the show, expect of BABIES?!

Apparently show producers did attempt to find other options, bringing in other children, redheads even (diverse!), but soon found they didn’t have the je ne sais quoi of the Olsen twins, so they swiftly and reluctantly brought them back on.

Although I’m disappointed in Uncle Jesse, I can’t say I’m too surprised. Joey was always more open and engaged with the kids, while Jesse would just roll through in his leather jacket and do a Fonzi wink, before leaving on another date with a long-legged woman in acid wash jeans and large bangs.

John Stamos confirmed that he will be in Netflix’s reunion show “Fuller House,” and everyone involved is still hoping the Olsen twins will deign to return. Maybe all the convincing they need is a vote of faith from ol’ Uncle Jesse! [EW]
