Struggling Musician Michael Bolton Is Crowdfunding His Next Album
Michael Bolton, king of mid-’90s adult contemporary soft rock, wants to make a new album, for you, his loyal fans. Except he doesn’t want to go through a record company to do it, or fund it himself. So, instead, he is offering all of us the glorious privilege of giving him the money to make it! What an exciting opportunity!
Bolton, who has a net worth of $60 million dollars, is teaming up with PledgeMusic, hoping that people who have way less than that will donate to his new album in exchange for some exciting Michael Bolton merchandise, as well as the chance to vote on the name of his new album.
You’ve all been asking about it and the time has finally come to announce plans for my brand new studio album. I can’t tell you the name yet, because I’m going to ask you to help me decide on what I should record next! I’m inviting you in on the journey from concept to completion. Hopefully it will challenge and inspire you as much as it does me, and I can’t wait to see what we all come up with!
Here’s how it’ll work! Through the PledgeMusic platform, I can bring you into the entire recording process. When you pre-order the album, you automatically get unprecedented access to all kinds of behind the scenes photos, videos and other updates during the recording sessions. As I gather your comments and ideas, this project will start to take shape. Details of the album will reveal themselves as we go along. This is my way of saying thank you for being so incredibly supportive over the years.
You’ll also be able to get exclusive merchandise items and personal experiences – everything from personalized lyric sheets and birthday greetings, to in-studio visits and live event VIP packages.
Thank you again for all of your support. Let’s go!!!
Truly, this is a dream come true for all hardcore Boltonketeers. For instance, for a mere $60 donation, you could get a signed copy of his book “The Soul Of It All.”
Which you can later sell on Ebay for a whopping $11.95!
Also, for a $5,000 donation, you can have lunch or breakfast with Michael Bolton himself, in either West Hollywood, or Connecticut.
What a dream!
Of course, we must note that Bolton isn’t just asking money for himself. A “portion” of these donations will be given to “The Michael Bolton Charities” foundation. What that portion is, we don’t actually know.
Clearly, this is a unique opportunity to help a struggling musician get his music out to the masses. After all, how is he supposed to live without us?
