Just Look At This Asshole: Oblivious Klansman Wears FUBU Shoes, Doesn’t Get It

Oh good lord, would you look at this one. This charming KKK member came to a rally at Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park to express his support for the Confederate flag – but he did not exactly come dressed for the occasion. He came wearing FUBU shoes … and he did not see the irony.

The man was briefly interviewed by George Chidi of Neon Flag, and when asked about his shoes he pointed out that they were red, black and white, the official colors of the KKK.

Chidi attempted to explain to him that FUBU is a hip hop brand — that the acronym means “For Us, By Us” (with the “Us” meaning Black people) and that it “is a brand established by Black entrepreneurs meant to keep the wealth generated by fashion sales in the black community.”

He … did not get it.

“Them shoes that you probably wore was designed by a white man back in the 1920s. But does that make you stop wearing them shoes because the white man designed them? I don’t care if a black man designed my shoes.”

The Klansman then told Chidi, a Black man, that he didn’t hate him, but that he hated what “his people” were doing to this country.

Really? Really? You’re in the KKK, and you’re going to pull that? I mean, let’s be real here–I hardly think anyone is pointing to a visibly drunk (I think? Unless he’s just … like that?) Klansman who calls his wife his “old lady” and who wears white socks pulled up to his mid calve and going “Now, this is what is right with America! More of that please!”
