Tinder Wants To Make It Easier For You To Possibly Bone A Celeb

Tinder has announced that celebrity profiles will now be verified, making it that much easier for you to fulfill your dreams of a meet-cute with a famous person. From the official announcement on their blog:

Starting today, you may see a verified symbol on some profiles. Now when notable public figures, celebrities and athletes appear in your recommendations, you’ll know it’s for real.

Okay. Since celebrities have such a difficult time finding a warm soft bit to rub up on, Tinder made it easier for them. Imagine the stories! Swiping right on, say, Jonah Hill, could lead you to your very own wild and crazy night featuring blow, late-night cheeseburgers and sex acts that you’d normally never consider unless under the influence of tenuous fame.

The checkmark here carries less weight than it does on, say, Twitter, where people drunk with the power of a social networking platform validating their existence run rampant through your timeline, spouting idiocy while hiding behind a digital shield of approval. It’s really just letting you know that if you do indeed end up boning the celebrity you’re drunkenly engaging with through your phone, you might have to sign an NDA or something. Or, you could use your experience to rocket yourself to infamy. Your call.

So, when you’re thumbing through the basics before bed, keep a look out for that little blue checkmark. Use protection! Godspeed.
