Charleston’s Emanuel AME Church Opens Its Doors For Sunday Service

The Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Charleston, South Carolina opened its doors on Sunday morning for worship service a mere four days after an unthinkably violent mass shooting claimed the lives of its pastor and eight others inside.

Among the mourners and community members were South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and Charleston Mayor Joseph Riley.

The service’s message led by the Reverend Norvel Goff was of love, recovery and healing.
