Courtney Stodden’s Mother To Adopt 42-Year-Old Dude

I’m not really sure how to introduce this story, so I’ll just jump right in: Courtney Stodden’s mom, Krista Keller, wants to adopt a 42-year-old man.

The man in question is John Kerwin. I’ve never heard of him before, but he has a website and wears a suit and leans backwards a lot and possibly has no hands (see website). I guess he’s a comedian?

Keller explains that she’s his manager and he’s her client. According to Keller, Mr. Kerwin lost his own mother four years ago; meanwhile, citing “creative differences,” Keller no longer momages daughter Courtney Stodden (in a more recent interview, Keller admits the two are sadly not on speaking terms). So, rather than making fun of this headline, I’ll just say, okay, I “get” it. I lost my adoptive parents a couple years ago, and I totally “get” wanting a new mom.

Anyway. I feel like there are “adult adoption” trend-piece flare-ups once every few years — I found some touching articles here and here, for instance.

Originally I’d planned to list out “famous adult adoptees,” but then I could only think of the three adopted sons of Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt — none of whom exactly counts as “famous.”
