Megyn Kelly Says Her Duggar Interview “Won’t Be A Cross-Examination”

I hardly had high hopes for Megyn Kelly’s Duggar family interview, airing tomorrow on Fox News, but in a preview, the self-described “tough, but fair journalist” all but assured Duggar loyalists that she would be going easy on Jim Bob and Michelle:

“This isn’t going to be a cross-examination of a family. It’s going to be an interview. I want to hear their story. And I think America wants to hear their story now. … Nothing is off limits. [But] I don’t plan on getting into the specific details about what was done, because my understanding is the victims don’t want to discuss that either.”

Well, I am an American and speaking as a representative of America, here is what America wants to know about the Duggars “story” (consider these “interview” questions, not cross-examinations questions, Meg):

  • “What exactly did you do upon learning that your eldest son was molesting little girls, often in their sleep, including your own daughters?”
  • “According to the police reports, you waited an awfully long time to report the issue — why?”
  • “Are you aware that child molestation is a crime? Why shouldn’t your son be held accountable for committing a crime? Jesus forgave is not an acceptable answer.”
  • “You sent Josh Duggar to get a stern talking to from a man who later was imprisoned for possession of child porn. What did you hope Josh would learn from that conversation?”
  • “That man says you were not completely forthcoming about all of Josh’s criminal behavior — is it true you lied to him?”
  • “What did you do to help the girls who were abused by Josh? Did any of your help for them involve blaming them for their own victimization, as is suggested by Bill Gothard’s Advanced Training Institute (ATI) homeschool program?”
  • “After learning that your son molested your daughters, you continued to push out baby after baby after baby, children that Josh, as one of the eldest, helped care for. Can you explain why you felt comfortable allowing a known child molester to continue to care for your ever-growing-brood of children?”
  • “How can you possibly be confident that your son, Josh Duggar, has not molested any other children?”
  • “You say that trans and gay people are out to molest our children, but you had a God-fearing, Jesus-loving child molester living under your own roof. PLEASE EXPLAIN.”
  • “How do you live with yourselves?”

My only hope is that this will go down a bit like Jay Wilds interview with the Intercept after the first season of “Serial” came to an end, in which Jay’s statements, which contradicted his official testimony, were never questioned by the interviewer. Her refusal to “cross examine” him, as Kelly might put it, essentially resulted in him hanging himself. Who knows what the Duggars will say if left to prattle on without interruption. The problem is, far too many Americans worship this clown car vagina cult to ever hold them accountable.
