Watch Bill Cosby Sidestep His Rape Allegations On “Good Morning America”

In an interview with ABC News’s Linsey Davis on “Good Morning America,” Bill Cosby finally broke his silence on the sexual assault allegations that have been made against him. Sort of.

Ostensibly there to promote his charitable work with the Black Belt Community Foundation, which works to improve public schools in Alabama, Cosby instead fumbled his way through questions about the allegations, providing no clarity and spewing an awful lot of nonsense.

When asked about whether or not the allegations will overshadow the message of his work with the Black Belt Community Foundation, he said:

“I have been in this business over 52 years, and I’ve never seen anything like this, reality is the situation, and I can’t speak.”

Not the clearest answer for someone who very clearly can speak, and is in fact speaking when he made that statement. His studied avoidance of the questions was similar to the way anyone who is guilty would act if they were put on the spot. Another sampling, in response to Davis asking if he was “prepared for the backlash” if a young person asks him about the allegations.

“I’m not sure that they will come like that. I think that many of them say, well, you’re a hypocrite, You say one thing you say the other. My point is okay, listen to me careful. I’m telling you where the road is out. You wanna go here, or you want be concerned about who’s giving you the message.”

The answers are unclear, but I’m pretty sure we got the message.
