Hilary Duff Might Share Her Tinder Dates On A Reality Show

When Hilary Duff joined Tinder earlier this week, she seems to have also flipped a cosmic switch (or, you know, tapped the help of her publicist) and is suddenly all over the internet, doing things like magically running into her “Lizzie McGuire” costars and releasing new music videos. Apparently she just can’t let go of that stroke of magic, so she’s attempting to harness it by filming all her Tinder dates. Reportedly, she’s hoping to turn the footage into a reality show about her new life since divorcing from her ex, Mike Comrie.

No matter what Hilary’s true personality is like behind the scenes, her normal-chic public persona is too…chill for a reality show. Does she really want to devolve into either A) one of those specific breeds of C-list has-beens that turn to reality TV in a desperate bid to stay relevant or B) a scary housewife getting day drunk on camera while she flips tables over? Hilz, you are better than these options. If you’re going to do reality, at least be one of those people who slap the label “docu-series” on it in an attempt to elevate the sanctity of what they’re doing. I also feel a bit betrayed by the fact that she framed her entry into the Tinder world as a cutesy, spontaneous move. She told E!:

“I was sitting with my friends one night at the house and we were joking around. In my life, I have always had really serious boyfriends. I’ve always met people through work and I have never been on a blind date. What’s the worst that could happen?”

She didn’t lie about anything, but there was definitely some major inferring going on about the “organic” nature of the whole thing if she really just joined with the prior intention of filming it. So far, she’s only been on one date through the app (where this happened), and TMZ claims the entire evening was filmed. For all my complaining, if she did go forward with a show, I would totally watch it. At least the first episode before things got too weird.
