Mariah Carey’s New Single, “Infinity,” Is Vintage, Flawless Mariah

In preparation for Queen Mariah, Mistress of The Lambs, Keeper of The Butterflies’ upcoming Las Vegas Residency, here is the only new single off her forthcoming album, entitled #1 to Infinity.¬†Everything about this song is perfect. It sounds like classic, vintage, ’90s Mariah, complete with breathy upper-register runs, trills, and the same banal, literal lyrics that mark a return to the Mariah I know and love.

The video looks like something your 14-year-old cousin made in iMovie, and the song is icy, twinkly, synth-y, peak Mariah-realness. Hold onto your wig, Ariana Grande. The queen has returned.
