There Might Be An Unreleased Beyonce Album Out There Somewhere

I may never recover in full from Beyonce’s surprise drop, Beyonce, in 2013, but the news that there is definitely an unreleased album of Fela Kuti-inspired music from the King herself sounds almost too good to be true. Let’s hear it straight from the source. Here’s The-Dream, annotating End Of Time, the record he produced, on Genius.com:

We did a whole Fela album that didn’t go up. It was right before we did 4. We did a whole different sounding thing, about twenty songs. She said she wanted to do something that sounds like Fela. That’s why there’s so much of that sound in the “End of Time.”

Exciting! Scintillating! Not surprising, however, because I’m willing to bet that the people that follow Beyonce around and document her every move have a giant cache of unreleased material. I’m also willing to bet that if any of them let any of that slip, they’d be disappeared. Here’s what Fela Kuti, a Nigerian musician and pioneer of the Afrobeat genre, sounds like, just so you have an idea of what we’re talking about:

If a Fela-inspired album means more songs like the following, then please, by all means, bring that record to light:
