MRA Says Germanwings Crash Might Have Been Prevented If “Sluts” Gave More Blowjobs To “Omega Males”

By now, you’ve probably read that the Germanwings Airbus A320 that crashed in the Alps earlier this week was deliberately brought down by co-pilot Andreas Lubitz (above). French prosecutors say that voice recorder evidence indicates that Lubitz, 28, locked the other pilot out of the cockpit and steered the plane to its descent; his breathing — and the screams of passengers — can be heard on the recorder, indicating he was alive and in control at the time of the crash. There’s no explanation yet for why Lubitz would commit mass murder, but French officials say there is “no indication” that the crash was a terrorist attack, though the last time I checked, deliberately flying a plane full of human beings into a mountain and towards certain death is the very definition of “an act of terror.” (But Lubitz is white and not known to be Muslim, so this is just a simple case of murder/suicide, obviously. Ugh. I digress.)

But while government officials have placed the blame for the crash squarely on the shoulders of Lubitz, not everyone is so sure he’s the only one at fault. Leave it to a men’s rights activist to figure out a way to spin this horrifying tragedy into yet another example of how feminists are ruining the world. According to writer and known MRA Vox Day (real name: Theodore Beale), Lubitz was probably an “Omega” male whose rage over his “low socio-sexual rank” led him to kill himself and 149 innocent people — which could have been prevented if “sluts” were less picky about who they blew. On his blog, Day writes (incorrectly identifying Lubitz as “Lubritch”):

Now, obviously no one else was responsible for Lubritch’s [sic] actions if it indeed was Omega rage at work. He alone bears the blame. But it is somewhat haunting to think about how many lives might be saved each year if the sluts of the world were just a little less picky and a little more equitable in their distribution of blowjobs.

As a 28 year-old airline pilot, Lubritch [sic] would likely have been married in a more traditionally structured society. It’s not impossible that the Germanwings deaths represent more of the indirect costs of feminism.

So Lubitz “alone” bears the blame … except, according to Day, he wouldn’t have killed himself and all those people if the sluts of the world were more fair and gave guys like him blowjobs. That if feminists hadn’t ruined everything for men, a guy like Lubitz — again, a man who KILLED 149 PEOPLE — would have been happily married and therefore not concerned with committing mass murder. Hell, we’ve seen actual mass murderers justify their actions by deflecting blame onto feminism and the women who have deprived them of sex and servitude. Remember Elliot Rodgers, who killed seven people near UC Santa Barbara in 2013 as part of his “war on women”? Countless MRAs tried to write Rodgers off as just another mentally ill killer, but Vox Day, who is decidedly one of their own, is arguing the exact same thing. That if sluts had given Lubitz more blow jobs, just as if sluts had given Rodgers the sex he deserved, his “Omega rage” wouldn’t have pushed him to this “merciless act of self-destruction.”

I am not even going to waste my time treating Day’s actual argument with any semblance of seriousness, because come on, no amount of blowjobs in the world would have had an impact on Lubitz’s horrifying actions, whether he turns out to be an “Omega male” or not. The suggestion is offensive on every level, especially to the people who lost their lives and the loved ones who are mourning their loss. But ignoring men like Day, who hate women — not just feminists, but women – isn’t going to make hateful, misogynistic beliefs like his any less pervasive or dangerous.
