Aaron Carter Is Seemingly Subtweeting Hilary Duff Over That Whole “Undying Love For Her” Thing
I will never tire of this saga. Last year, Aaron Carter took to Twitter to declare his still-burning feelings for Hilary Duff, whom he dated when they were teenagers back in 2003. His repeated insistence that Hilz was the love of his life and that he longed to have her back was so pervasive that it became interview fodder for Hilary for the better part of a year. For months, she remained diplomatic it, politely reminding the world that — hello — she and Aaron don’t even know each other anymore, and leaving things at that. By the time she was interviewed for the upcoming April issue of Cosmopolitan, however, she was done playing nice. She told the magazine:
“Him reaching out through social media? It’s ridiculous! But then people do it all the time, like Chris Brown and Karrueche? Come on, guys. Keep it between text messages.”
I don’t blame her one bit, and if I were her, I probably would have cracked on the politeness front a whole lot earlier. Aaron’s actions weren’t exactly outright rude, but they were definitely inappropriate and somewhat unfair to her. I was under the impression that he kept all his love declarations for Hilary strictly within the realm of public forums that avoided direct contact, but now I have to wonder…did Aaron ever text her about this? Somehow I doubt a person who was so willing to proclaim his desire on the internet in a tone woefully reminiscent of LiveJournal would directly contact her like a grown-up and express his feelings for her (and I’d hope a conversation like that would warrant a call rather than a text), but now the questions will forever eat at me. When Aaron saw Hilary’s latest interview, he was less than pleased — at least, I’m assuming so, because who the hell else would this subtweet be directed at?
Hilary, on the other hand, isn’t bothered one bit:
Never change, you two. Actually, mostly just Hilary.
