The Album Art For Björk’s Vulnicura Is Insane

Here is your first look at the physical album art for Björk’s newest release, Vulnicura, and hoo boy, it’s something. The album got a surprise digital release in January, and will be out physically in March. The album is a visceral, raw exploration of heartbreak, and contains material written in the wake of her separation from long-time partner and art world prat Matthew Barney. Her albums are the subject of a retrospective at the MOMA here in New York, which opens on March 8 and runs through June 7.

Get yourself to the MOMA if you can, and if you can’t, check out the trailer for “Black Lake,” which is a site-specific sound and video installation based around the song, which is the emotional and gut-wrenching centerpiece of her latest album.
