Jimmy Kimmel Takes On Anti-Vaxxers (Again) With “Child’s Right To Choose” Video

Last week, Jimmy Kimmel presented a PSA-style video featuring a bunch of doctors delivering a heartfelt, expletive-filled message to parents who refuse to vaccinate their kids. It was pretty magical and immensely satisfying.

The anti-vax movement was NOT HAPPY about this, and sent Kimmel a ton of angry messages to let him know how they felt. This comes as no surprise to me, because hell, I’ve been there. Just a few weeks ago I had a bunch of loony toons coming for my head because I dared to criticize the wisdom of giving your kid bleach enemas in hopes of curing their autism.  Ain’t no one as touchy as someone who believes some seriously dumb shit. If you don’t believe me, go and tweet about chemtrails not being real.

Anyway, many of these anti-vaxxers were angry at Kimmel for not “presenting both sides,” because of course they were.

“Some of these people are demanding that I apologize, which I of course will not do. A lot of these groups are insisting that I present both sides of the argument, and I’m not gonna do that either well, for the same reason that I wouldn’t present both sides if a group of people decided that pancakes make you gay — they don’t and there’s no point in discussing it.”

However, what Kimmel did do was send Jack and Becky, his team of community activists, into the streets to ask people to sign a petition supporting “A Child’s Right To Choose” whether or not to be vaccinated. To the credit of the interviewees, not a single one was fooled, and all of them were damn firm on making sure their kids got vaccinated. [Jimmy Kimmel Live]
