The “Saved By The Bell” Cast Reunited On “The Tonight Show” And It Was Perfect

We have been waiting precisely 22 years for this and it’s finally happened: the cast of Saved by the Bell has reunited. At. Bayside.

Last night on an unremarkable Wednesday, Jimmy Fallon, purveyor of nostalgia, whimsy, and breaking character, pulled together the only stunt that could ever follow up Will Ferrell lip syncing “can’t keep your eyes off my fatty, daddy” sans a hint of irony: bringing back together Bayside High’s finest fictional friends from “Saved by the Bell.” Fallon, in a fake 90s wig and ill-fitting jeans, brought back Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who dyed his post “Franklin & Bash” hair back to its unnatural and wholly appropriate bottle blonde), A.C. Slater, Jessie Spano and a very pregnant Kelly Kapowski back to Bayside to chat on giant phones, dance to Swan Lake, and give Mr. Belding hell.

I can take or leave Jimmy, and I don’t reallly miss the omission of Lisa nd Screech, but the rest of the important things are all here: Slater’s dance moves, Kelly’s long hair, Jessie’s Pointer Sisters meltdown, Zack’s ability to stop time — it’s all here.

And let’s be honest – this is way better than your high school reunion will ever be.
