Lifetime Has Cast Their Ariel Castro For “The Michelle Knight Story”

Lifetime has a reputation for toeing the line of good taste, but this is just … ugh. The network behind previously aired controversial Made For TV movies about the demise of Brittany Murphy, the disappearance of Natalie Holloway and the Amanda Knox trial, to name a few, has just signed on Raymond Cruz to play Ariel Castro in “The Michelle Knight Story.”

Known for his roles in “Major Crimes” and “The Closer,” Cruz will depict the man who kidnapped Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Georgina DeJesus and held them captive for 11 years in his home. The movie will focus on the real accounts of Michelle Knight, who was the first of the trio to be kidnapped back in 2002.

Though “The Michelle Knight Story” is said to be a working title, I’m sure tons of people will tune in to get a closer look at what really happened in the confines of this kidnapper’s home.

I can’t help but feel like this movie is a bit invasive, but it should be eye-opening, to say the least. Now there’s just one question left: Who will play Michelle Knight? []
