Carrie Underwood Releases “Something In The Water” Music Video, Takes Me To Church
I’m not a religious person, but if there’s anyone in this world who can convert me, it’s my fantasy girlfriend Carrie Underwood. Last night, my ultimate girl crush hosted the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley (and totally killed it, unlike last year, which was rough) before releasing the new music video for her controversial song “Something In The Water.”
The song, which has been met with both extreme praise and criticism for it’s religious undertones, affirms her belief in God, conversion and baptism, and focuses on the strength she found from Christianity. After lots of backlash for singing about her religion, Carrie went public about her choice, telling her atheist haters “if you don’t like it, change the channel.” PREACH.
Now, Carrie, who’s due to deliver her first baby (a boy!) in the spring, has released a stunning music video for the single, complete with choreography from famous “So You Think You Can Dance” star Travis Wall. But with her baby bump in tow, Carrie does very little moving around herself, instead leaving it up to several ridiculously talented interpretive dancers, who’ve somehow made splashing around in a shallow pool of water look beautiful. Whether Carrie’s glow can be attributed to her pregnancy or her strength from singing about her beliefs, she looks more stunning than ever, and I, for one, feel like I should start going to church more often.
