Janay Rice Says All There Is To Say About That Ray Rice Halloween Costume
Some asshole decided that it would be super-hilarious to be Ray Rice, Domestic Abuser for Halloween, and made a costume in which he wore Rice’s jersey and dragged around a blow-up doll. You know what stumps me about this? He got the “don’t wear blackface” memo, but not the “domestic abuse is not funny” memo. It was originally posted on Reddit’s /r/funny subreddit, which, just… vom.
Obviously there’s been a lot of backlash. It’s been roundly criticized on the internet and on Twitter (sickeningly enough, there are plenty of people who think it’s just hilarious as well), and on TMZ Rose McGowan called it “repulsive.” But the sort of bottom-line sentiment about the whole thing comes from Janay Rice:
.@TMZ it’s sad, that my suffering amuses others
