Teresa Giudice Of “Real Housewives” Sentenced To 15 Months In Prison

  • Teresa Giudice has been sentenced to 15 months in prison hours after her husband, Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice, was sentenced to 41 months for bankruptcy, mail, and wire fraud. He’ll also have to pay $414,588 in restitution and may be deported to his native Italy after serving his sentence. The couple pleaded guilty this spring to intending to falsify loan applications, hiding assets when declaring bankruptcy, and failing to file taxes. Teresa will serve her sentences first so that one parent will be able to remain home with their four children. U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas, who sentenced Teresa, said she considered giving Teresa the easy route: “For a moment, I thought about probation. For a moment … I need to send a message that it isn’t who you are, how famous you are. If you do something wrong, there will be consequences to pay.” Preach. [Gawker, NJ.com]
