Donatella Arpaia is a judge on “Iron Chef America” and “The Next Iron Chef.” She was involved in several famous restaurants, like davidburke & donatella and Kefi in New York City and Eos in Miami. She was also the food consultant/chef for a restaurant and lounge called Sienna in the Hamptons … up until July, when she learned the waitstaff was actually made up of 40 strippers being shipped in from a gentleman’s club.
According to Page Six, Arpaia was unaware that her partners in Sienna had reportedly hired 40 strippers from Sapphire, a strip club in New York City, to serve as eye candy/entertainment. Guests at the restaurant could pay $5,000 for two dancers to be stationed at their table (although they would be required to keep their tops on). Twenty other guests, however, paid $10,000 to attend an “afterparty at a private house” with all the strippers, where there were no such restrictions.
In a restrained statement, Arpaia told Page Six:
As the summer progressed, it was clear that they were pursuing a different direction in food service that was not in alignment with my brand. Because of that difference of opinion, I terminated my association with Sienna.
Just to be clear, her brand is: no strippers.
