Beauty Test Drive: Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask Champagne
I love silver and I love gold, but I rose gold is my absolute favorite. There’s something so elegant and princess-like about the pinkish metallic hue that’s not too flashy, but is still classically pretty. When I heard about Bite Beauty’s new Agave Lip Mask Champagne which has a rose gold pearl tint, I had no idea what that actually was, but couldn’t wait to give it a good old Beauty Test Drive. After all, I’ve given Bite’s products a try before and love them!
Price: $26, Sephora
Application: Since it’s described as a “lip mask,” I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as far as whether it was a gloss or a balm or what. It turns out it’s kind of both. The mask comes in a small tube, and the actual product is so thick that I had trouble squeezing it out. It has a sheer, shiny finish, but has the thickness of a balm (it’s thicker than Vaseline, if that helps give you an idea). The good news is that when I finally got it out of the tube, it spread easily in a thick coat over my lips and looked SO PRETTY. It had a very subtle pale pink finish with just a hint of gold shimmer. The lip mask is packed with antioxidants, healing agave nectar, jojoba and antioxidant resveratrol (found in red wine). Apparently you’re supposed to wear it overnight, which helps to hydrate your lips, making them appear smoother and softer to the touch. Oh, it’s also very sweet and yummy to the taste.
Results: My lips definitely felt softer the morning after I wore it, but it’s so pretty that wearing it to bed feels like a waste. I’ll definitely wear the lip mask outside of my nighttime beauty regimen. As much as it helps to heal and moisturize your lips, it’s as glamorous on. It’s probably too sticky for a lip-lock session, but it’s a great way to freshen up your face. I just wish it wasn’t so damn hard to get out of the tube!
