If you’re a coffee lover and a wine lover, we’re about to tell you something that will either completely excite or disgust you. Friends Fun Wine has launched a collection of low-calorie, low-alcohol coffee wines in cans: Cabernet Coffee Espresso and Chardonnay Coffee Cappuccino. I’m completely confused about how to feel about it.
Both drinks are served cold in individual cans, which, in theory, is totally convenient because you can carry it around wherever you want just like soda. But in reality, you CAN’T carry it everywhere because it’s six percent alcohol, which means public consumption is off-limits even though you’d have to have, like, 30 of them to feel a buzz (or maybe that’s just my own high tolerance). Also, I love coffee and I love wine, but putting them together seems like a strange combination, no? I love gyros and I love peanut butter and jelly, but I don’t think I would like a peanut butter and jelly gyro.
And similar to the whole zebra conundrum about whether it’s white with black stripes or black with white stripes, I need to know if this is cold coffee with wine or wine with cold coffee. Do you drink it in the morning with a scone or after dinner to wind down? I have so many questions.
