“I knew I would be a happier person … I did not anticipate just how happy I would feel in every aspect of my life. Just an ease and a comfort. And it’s really been quite extraordinary to feel just the shift. It was pretty much overnight, too,” Ellen Page said about coming out in February.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that’s set to air on her show later this month, Page said, “It’s so nice to have people come up to me and tell me their story or, you know, say, ‘Hey, I’m closeted. Can you give me advice?’ Those are really beautiful moments to get to share with people.”
It wasn’t until after her announcement that Page realized just how much tension and exhaustion she’d been feeling while keeping her sexuality a secret. Even DeGeneres tells her how much more relaxed she seems. Watching the two Ellens talk about their shared experience of coming out in the midst of a high-profile career is about as warm and fuzzy as it gets. Excuse me while I tear up at my desk! [People]
