Astrology 101: How To Spot Each Sign … At An Arts & Crafts Market
Now that the weather’s warming up, all kinds of markets and arts & crafts fairs are popping up all over. Since half of the Astrology 101 writing team (ahem, Katelyn) just happens to make and sell amazing wood art at one such market in Portland (Saturday Market, represent!), we thought it was the perfect opportunity to discuss how to spot each sign at these creative marketplaces. Which sign goes straight for the most ornate, exorbitant piece of art? Which sign is showering all the vendors with compliments? Which sign is all about practicality when picking out their handmade goods? Read on to find out how to spot each sign of the zodiac when they’re browsing for paintings, bracelets, dreamcatchers, and artisan jam…
Aries (March 21st-April 19th): You will find Aries running around to each booth, picking things up, saying, “This is so awesome!”, putting them down, and excitedly moving on to the next booth, not pausing long enough to buy anything.
Taurus (April 20th-May 20th): Taureans will be taking their time browsing, appreciating the beauty that surrounds them. They will try on every piece of jewelry that catches their eye and feel all of the varied textures of fabrics, wood, and stones.
Gemini (May 21st-June 20th): You can be sure to find Gemini chatting it up with as many artists possible to learn about the artist’s process, the full back story of each piece, and of course to share their own experience with that type of art.
Cancer (June 21st-July 22nd): Generous Cancer is there on a gift-buying mission. They are picking out the most unique and beautiful one-of-a-kind gifts for their closest friends and loved ones.
Leo (July 23rd-August 22nd): Leo has surely bought the most ornate, extravagant piece of art and is parading it around proudly, fielding compliments and beaming happily at their good taste.
Virgo (August 23rd-September 22nd): Virgo has come with a list of a few really specific things they were looking for, and they will spend the day diligently comparing and contrasting to make sure they choose the perfect things.
Libra (September 23rd-October 22nd): You will find Libra happily going from booth to booth showering all the artists and vendors with compliments and “oohs” and “aahs” like a little fairy of love and creative validation.
Scorpio (October 23rd-November 21st): Scorpio comes here often and is loyal to a few of the vendors. Upon arrival they go straight to “their” artists to see the newest pieces they can add to their collection.
Sagittarius (November 22nd-December 21st): You can find Sagittarians pondering and discussing the philosophical meanings behind different pieces of art, not to mention the inspiring economic implications of a creative free market.
Capricorn (December 22nd-January 19th): Capricorn is bypassing the more ornate art pieces and honing in on the functional pieces of art, like a hand-carved maple wood pepper grinder that will look fabulous in their kitchen.
Aquarius (January 20th-February 18th): Aquarians are having the time of their life being surrounded by creative, unique people, and are more than happy to support all the independent crafters and artists. Places like these renew their faith in humanity.
Pisces (February 19th-March 20th): You will find Pisces wandering around, appreciating the fresh air and atmosphere of creativity. Maybe they’ll buy something if they find a meaningful piece, but mostly they’re just there to soak up the good energy.
