Found: The Perfect Over-The-Knee Socks (For Any Size Thighs!)
I’m really into the over-the-knee socks trend. I think they look super cute under boots, layered over tights, leggings, or bare legs. They’re flattering, sexy, and warm — a rare trifecta that’s been especially appreciated in this awful cold weather we’ve been having. I had been wistfully admiring this look on other women for awhile, but I was hesitant to try it myself. As someone with, umm, ample thighs, I didn’t think I’d ever be able to find over-the-knee socks that didn’t pinch or create a wool sausage effect. Then I ordered a pair of EG Smith over-the-knee socks from Sock Dreams, and now I’m rarely ever not wearing them. I had to take a moment to share the love with y’all, because these socks are THAT good.
Pulled up high with my pirate boots; scrunched down a bit with the cowboy boots I found on my vintage shopping trip with Ami.
As you can see in the pictures above, pulled up all the way, they reach my mid-thigh (I’m 5’3″, for reference), but scrunched down a bit, they come up just a couple inches above my knee. I prefer to wear them scrunched, but however I wear them, they never slip down or pinch at all. With 2% spandex, they hug my legs perfectly without squeezing them into any unnatural shape. I’ve worn them with tights, bare legs, and even skinny jeans, but my favorite way to wear them is layered over my Zella capri leggings, with a tunic or sweater dress on top.
The other thing I love about these socks is that they’re warm enough to have braved the Polar Vortex with me, but light enough that I plan to continue wearing them into spring with cutoffs and sundresses. The thick-yet-breathable fabric makes them wearable for at least 3 out of the 4 seasons. (I’ll get back to you when summer humidity rolls around.)
They’re $15 a pair, made in the USA, and shipping is free (and ridiculously fast!). If you’ve been hesitant to try this trend because you didn’t think over-the-knee socks existed for women whose thighs are never going to be featured in a #thighgap #thinspiration photo, I highly recommend you grab a pair for yourself! Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to order another pair in pink.
p.s. Just FYI, this post was not sponsored in any way, I just really, really love these socks.
