My pale, winter skin had set in, and I needed to update my go-to concealer for a lighter shade. Instead of purchasing the same solution, I opted to try the well-reviewed Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. This product claims to nourish skin with jojoba and honey, while providing waterproof, crease proof, and transfer resistant coverage. Ha, yeah right. As someone who has struggled to find concealer to cover dark under eye circles, I was skeptical. If this product could provide the coverage I desired, the nourishing powers would simply be a bonus.
Price/Availability: $48, Beauty Bar
Formula: When purchasing this tiny tub, my first reaction was “this shit is expensive.” Upon opening and touching this concoction, what I would have assumed to be a lightly whipped concealer was actually quite dense. Just dipping the tip of my finger into it picked up too much! The smallest dab of this product under each eye was more than enough.
Application: Blending this tacky concealer under each eye requires a combination of patting and smudging. The results as you can see are shocking. I could no longer see my dark circles. In fact, I could probably doodle on my face with a Sharpie and cover it up with this stuff. (Not that I’m actually going to try that.) Under the harsh bathroom lights, the concealer was noticeable until I blended in my mineral foundation.
Overall: Um, I’m hooked. Fourteen hours later, I showed no trace of dark under eye circles. I estimate this tiny tub will provide many months of coverage, and if the product improves fine lines over time, it’s definitely worth the $48 price tag. In fact, I’d call it a bargain.
