Pussy Riot Member Reveals Forced Daily Gynecological Exams While Imprisoned
  • Maria Alyokhina, a member of Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot, told the UK’s Guardian newspaper that her imprisonment included nearly three weeks of forced daily gynecological exams. Alyokhina spent almost two years in prison for a performance that was critical of Russian President Vladimir Putin. She and another member of Pussy Riot were released last week. [Talking Points Memo]
