Read The “Stomach-Churning” Sexual Assault Accusations Against R. Kelly

It’s been two weeks since R. Kelly released his latest album, Black Panties, reigniting the discussion around the singer’s extremely disturbing history as a sexual predator of young, Black women and girls, and the pass he has gotten from many in the music industry. The Village Voice has an interview with music journalist Jim DeRogatis, who has done a significant amount of the reporting on the charges against Kelly over the last 15 years, and has shared much of his research and documentation with the paper. ”The saddest fact I’ve learned is nobody matters less to our society than young black women,” DeRogatis told the Voice. ”Nobody.” The interview, in which DeRogatis “speaks frankly and explicitly about the many disturbing charges against Kelly,” and the “stomach-churning” case documentation he’s shared with the Voice should not be ignored.
