Last week, I was talking to one of my best guy friends about our various relationship dilemmas when he assured me, “It’s okay, Kate. All of this nonsense will be over once we turn 29, which is rapidly approaching.”
He was referring to our marriage pact: an agreement we made when we were 18 that if we weren’t married by the time we were 29, we would get hitched.
Back then, 29 seemed so far away, but as I round the corner of 26, still single, I find myself wondering what it would actually be like if I actually bit the bullet and married him if we’re both flyin’ solo come 2016. I know we’re not the only ones who’ve ever make a pact like this, but perhaps it’s more common than I know. Maybe some of you have even gone through with your marriage pacts! If so, I want to hear about it.
Do tell: Have you ever made a marriage pact?
