Christmas Came Early: Live Tweet With Us Through “The Sound Of Music Live!” Tonight
TODAY IS MY CHRISTMAS.
Two of my all-time favorite things, Carrie Underwood and “The Sound of Music,” are colliding tonight for a live performance on NBC, where my homegirl will be playing the ever-flawless Maria von Trapp. So, naturally my entire day today will consist of hardcore fangirling.
Let this be a warning: If anyone tries to reach me from approximately 8 to 11:30 p.m, you will be unsuccessful, because I will be happily live tweeting through every yodel, every song and every one of Captain von Trapp’s whistles. Join me!
To prepare you for tonight’s epic performance, here are some interesting “Sound of Music”-related facts about me.
1. I have a tendency to sing My Favorite Things to strangers when I’m intoxicated, but I usually screw up the lyrics (thanks, vodka) and say things like “raindrops on kittens and roses on mittens.” I have video evidence of this that I should really not discuss.
2. A family member of mine, also obsessed with “The Sound of Music,” stole edelweiss from the real and very off-limits von Trapp family garden. I refuse to say her name as it will incriminate her. She is my hero.
3. When I was young, my sister and I used to jump from couch to couch in our living room, taking turns singing Liesl’s part of “Sixteen Going On Seventeen.” Not gonna lie, I made a better Rolfe.
See you tonight!
P.S. I highly recommend creating makeshift lederhosen out of curtains to enhance the effects of this viewing party.
