“Beer Pong Rapist” Stalked Young Victims At Bar Tournaments
Well, this is horrible. Joey Poindexter, a 38-year-old real estate appraiser and beer pong player, allegedly infiltrated the beer pong tournament circuit in Montgomery County, Maryland to stalk his sexual assault victims. And he’s been doing it for the past 10 years. Poindexter was finally arrested after a young man called police to report that he’d met Poindexter at a beer pong tournament, drank a Long Island iced tea Poindexter bought him, and woken up the next morning at Poindexter’s residence with his clothes piled on the floor.
“It’s a horrific sexual assault case,” said Montgomery Assistant Police Chief Russ Hamill. “This is a sexual predator.”
Police were able to catch Poindexter after monitoring phone calls between him and the victim. So far they have identified 4 victims and believe there are at least 6 more based on images found on his phone. The victims were all men who ranged in age from late teens to early 20s, some of whom have reported memory loss from the nights they were raped, which may indicate that Poindexter used date rape drugs to get them back to his house.
Poindexter is currently being held in the Montgomery Jail for $500,000 bond. Let’s hope this creep gets locked up for a long, long time.
