There are no words. Ryan Havens Tannenholz, of Boise, Idaho, likes dressing up as a dog, and has a furry alter ego named Bubblegum Husky, which is, as you might expect, a Husky dog. But Tannenholz may have gone beyond the normal bounds of furrydom: he’s been accused of having sex with his cat. The incidences took place over the course of a year, and the 28-year-old was arrested on July 31 and charged with six felony counts of crimes against nature, and one misdemeanor count of cruelty to an animal.
He’s currently being held on $250,000 bail. Tannenholz was very active in the local furry community, but fellow furries say that his behavior is an anomaly. Commenters on the furry news site flayrah were quick to clarify that this is in no way typical furry behavior. Tannenholz was pretty active on the board, and at points referred to owning several animals, including a Husky (in one post, he talks about how a friend believed he was incapable of properly caring for the animal).
Wrote one furry commenter, GreenReaper, “Furry fandom is best served by publicly ostracising [sic] people who break such laws, not hiding them under a rug.”
Boise police say they’ve only handled a similar case once or twice (which, if you ask me, is once or twice too many). [Gawker]
