Kickass Woman Of The Day: The Youngest Person To Ever Pass The Bar, Gabrielle Turnquest

Mary Odell / August 3, 2013

American student Gabrielle Turnquest was recently called to the Bar of England and Wales after passing her Bar exams. This is a great achievement for anyone, but Turnquest happens to be a little more impressive than the average person to pass the Bar exams.  She just happens to be 18 years old, making her the youngest person to be called to the Bar of England and Wales in its 600-year existence.

On the heels of her impressive achievement, Turnquest will practice law in the Bahamas, where her parents are originally from, and pursue a career in fashion law. This is not her first incredible academic victory: the Florida native completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at Liberty University in Virginia at the age of 16. She studied law at the University of Law in the UK and hopes to continue studying apparel industry management.

According to UK’s Telegraph, the average lawyer starts the Bar Professional Training course at age 27.  Awesome work, Gabrielle Turnquest! We think you’re pretty kickass.
