Shailene Woodley thinks her new movie, “The Spectacular Now,” is really, really … real. Woodley told the ladies of “The View” that her favorite scene to film in the new coming-of-age teen dramedy, which arrives in theaters on August 2, is when her character, Aimee Finecky, loses her virginity to alcoholic bad boy Sutter Keely (played by Miles Teller). “It’s so real,” she said.
She goes on to explain:
“The audience does feel uncomfortable watching it because it almost feels like you’re invading somebody’s privacy. There’s not fancy music playing and there’s not any exaggeration of what it’s like to be intimate with somebody for possibly the first time. It’s also just a minute-long shot of us making love. … It’s just such a real look at what adolescents are doing today, the way they interact with their parents and they way they interact with each other. There’s no glamour. They’re not trying to make it something that’s it not.”
I still was on the fence until she confessed neither she nor her costars wore any makeup in the film: “There’s zits. It’s so real!”
