Check out this video of 11-year-old cello prodigy, Sujari Britt. Sujari’s parents noticed their daughter was musically gifted as a toddler and after hearing a Yo-Yo Ma performance and begging for her own instrument, she began her cellist career at the wee age of four. Her first solo recital was at age five, and she has performed in over 50 concerts since then. One of those concerts includes a recital with Alisa Weilerstein for President Obama (!) at the White House in 2009. Her teacher of seven years, Marion Feldman said, “Sujari must have played the cello in another lifetime.” The most mature tween I’ve ever seen, Sujari  practices about six hours a day. “My goal is to become a professional soloist. I’ll do everything that’s possible, you know?” she said. “You get out there, and you do your best, and that’s all you need to do.” Not only is her ambition and drive unbelievably inspiring, but feeling the overwhelming pride that resounds throughout this clip of her adorable parents was my favorite part to watch.
