High School Principal Suggest Porn Stars Teach Sex Ed

Principal Mark Slater of The Leys in Cambridge, a prestigious boarding school in the UK, has an idea popular with 14-year-old boys the world over: students should be taught sex education by porn stars.

Wait, what? Oh, he has his reasons! “I wouldn’t rule it out — simply because of what they’ve done in their life — if I felt that person was going to put across good values and be a good influence,” Slater explained.

While we appreciate his accepting attitude, and understand that he feels that the students will learn a lot about the less glamorous and dangerous parts of the pornography industry, this suggestion is truly, laughably terrible.  As the porn star James Deen has put it, when he visits college campuses to lecture about safe sex, real life sex is nothing like porn sex:

“People need to realize, porn is not real. Porn is entertainment. It’s a movie being made to arouse the viewer. Therefore, people should not be having sex the way people have sex in pornos. Well, I suppose if you want to have insane, porno-style sex that’s fine. But the length of time that we have sex, the amount of positions we go through, the way we pose for the camera—stuff like that—it all happens a specific way for film. So porn shouldn’t be the model that you mold your sex life after.”

Anyway, Principal Slater has few reasons to care. He is retiring this coming December so maybe he just wants to see if he can score some face time with a porn star while he has the chance?
