City Of Boston On Lockdown As Police Hunt For Second Suspect In Marathon Bombing

Soooo, while you were sleeping, the search for the person or persons who committed Monday’s bombing at the Boston Marathon went into overdrive. A brief recap: yesterday, police released surveillance footage and photos of two suspects. Last night, those two suspects — now identified as brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev — robbed a 7-11 near MIT, shot and killed an MIT police officer, and committed an armed carjacking (the driver was released unharmed). Police pursued the car, a gunfight ensued, and the suspects allegedly threw explosives into the street. Elder brother Tamerlan was killed and Dzhokhar apparently ran over his brother in order to get away. An IED was strapped to Tamerlan’s chest. Police are now on a city-wide manhunt for the remaining suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and the entire city of Boston has been advised to stay inside with their doors locked. Utter insanity. Stay safe everyone and I’ll update this post as more information comes in. [NBC News]
