No. There is nothing better than the idea of Riff Raff, the rapper/corn row aficionado who was clearly the inspiration for James Franco’s “Spring Breakers” character Alien, playing the part of Jamie Franko on upcoming episodes of “One Life To Live.” Mr. Raff, rightfully peeved that Franco pretty much stole his whole existence as inspiration for Alien, said in the past that “the storyline ain’t mine but no one on Earth can deny that James Franco’s image and appearance characteristics are Riff Raff all day.” He even mounted a Twitter campaign — #WhyJamesFrancoWhy — calling him out on the image theft.
“All I want is credit for his image and I’m confused why a superstar actor with millions of dollars would steal and deny credit from a new upcoming rapper like myself who hasn’t even dropped an album yet,” said Riff Raff of Franco’s performance. “What a fuckin’ asshole — I would never do any bullshit like that if I was in his position.”
And that’s why it’s so great, and appropo, that Riff Raff would take on Franco via a soap cameo. Franco, you’ll remember, did a couple of recurring stints on “General Hospital” as evil performance artist Franco (very meta, James). And though the show was cancelled last year, “One Life To Live” is now being produced via Hulu, and can also be viewed via iTunes.
