Middle school is rough on all of us. It’s especially rough when the administration at your middle school blames you for the sexual harassment you’re getting because of the size of your boobs. And it’s downright hellish when said administration suggests to your mother that a breast reduction might help.
Tammie Jackson of St. Louis County, Missouri, is livid that school district administrators for Central Middle School suggested her 13-year-old sixth grader “get a breast reduction” in order to stop the sexual harassment.
Jackson told Fox News:
It makes me feel like now you are telling me it’s my fault, it’s God’s fault the way he made her. The lady on the phone said they could transfer my daughter and said her boobs were so large she will always get teased. And the only suggestion she had for me is to have my daughter get a breast reduction.
First of all, if this dum dum on the phone works with kids she should know 13-year-olds can’t get breast reductions because their bodies aren’t done maturing yet.
But more important, what brazen victim-blaming of this poor young girl who already feels vulnerable and awkward about her changing body. This is not the way to handle sexual harassment.
