As someone who confines their wardrobe to the darker side of the spectrum (happily, might I add), I naturally shy away from solid brights or pastels. They clash and look kind of silly against my palette of black, grey, dark green, beige, and white, so I find that my monochromes are best brightened with a heady dose of — you guessed it — florals. Patterns add an unexpected touch to any desaturated ensemble, and florals in deeper shades strike the perfect balance between spring’s paler, more saccharine versions and this season’s all goth, all the time aesthetic. The best part? There’s no reason you should have to wait until April (at least!) to show them off.
