Beauty Cues: Olivia Wilde’s Fresh, Rosy Take On Fall Makeup
I have a serious face crush on Olivia Wilde. As a very devoted cat lover, I am inherently drawn to all things even remotely feline, and Olivia’s angular bone structure and wide-set eyes definitely fit the bill. The former “House” actress (who, by the way, has about fifteen movies in the works) attended the annual Accessories Council awards ceremony this week, and complemented her white silk dress with one of the more fresh-faced looks I’ve seen recently — the cooler seasons are all about darkness and drama when it comes to beauty, so I love that Olivia decided to say to hell with it and lighten everything up. Because really, who needs heavy makeup with a face like that? Get the details on Olivia’s look after the jump!
- Korres Cheek Butter in Philia Rose: Olivia’s makeup is dewiest on the cheeks, so you’ll definitely want to go with a silky cream formula that smooths on and blends easily. Swirl a bit of product onto the apples of cheeks with warm fingertips and bring it upward diagonally toward the temple for an effect that’s more contoured than doll-like.
- Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cotton Candy: This sweet blue-pink contains the very faintest of shimmers, which works to flatter your lips and enhance shape rather than turn your face into a disco ball. The conditioning formula has a soft, moisturizing sheen like a balm with the sheer but significant pigment of a translucent lipstick — and, as the face of the brand, Olivia would most definitely approve.
- Clinique Lash Power Long-Wearing Mascara in Black Onyx: In lieu of liquid liner, which creates a sharper, more defined edge, curl your lashes and sweep on mascara with abandon. You want your lashes to stay separate and clean, but wedge the brush in deep at the base of lashes to deposit product at the lashline. A mascara with a small, stiff wand, like this one by Clinique, is perfect for keeping lashes from clumping even when you’re laying it on thick.
