I Am Ridiculously Hopeful About The JCP Duro Olowu Collection

Julie Gerstein / October 28, 2012

Duro Olowu is one of my favorite designers ever — the bright colors and patterns and flattering, feminine shapes are awesome, but sadly, they’re also deeply unaffordable. Enter JC Penney — now renamed JCP — who’ve announced a new collaborative collection with the Nigerian-British designer. And the best part? Apparently eccentric style icon Iris Apfel is involved, too. Olowu, who is a favorite of FLOTUS Michelle Obama, tapped Apfel and artist Bella Foster to design accessories and jewelry. “This collection is for anyone, from 18 to 80,” he said. “Everything has a flattering element, whether you mix prints or pull out one piece and keep it simple.” The collection is priced between $10 and $100, and includes an amazing pair of shoes for just $40, which you can check out after the jump!
