With September on the horizon (dun dun dunnnnn), celebrities are often the first ones to convert their looks from beach-ready basics to the sultrier trappings of fall. Whitney Port isn’t someone I normally look at and think, Celebrity!, mostly because I’m a huge snob, but she does seem sharply attuned to the revolving seasonal trends. Dark eggplant-hued shadows, liners, and lipsticks are all over the radar for autumn, with cool-toned mauve shades rising to popularity as well. The former star of “The City” presented her eponymous clothing line at the Fashion Festival in Sydney (where, it’s worth nothing, it’s high summer), and chose a very purple look for the occasion, complementing a plum lip gloss with a similar shade around her eyes. While there isn’t anything fundamentally wrong with this pairing, I can’t help but feel like it makes the usually radiant Whitney look a bit… under the weather.
