Beauty Cues: Maria Sharapova Keeps Things Sweet While Debuting Her New Candy Line

We already know that Maria Sharapova is a hardcore philanthropist and kickass tennis player who has scored some of the biggest endorsement deals around, but her equally formidable sweet tooth managed to fly under the radar … until now. The Olympic silver medalist and four-time Grand Slam winner (and she’s only 25!) launched her premium candy line, Sugarpova, at Henri Bendel yesterday, and at risk of sounding tooth-achingly trite, Sharapova looked pretty damn sweet herself. A metallic dark brown liner smudged between the lashes and a sheer, shimmery mushroom taupe shadow on the lids enhances her almond-shaped eyes without the “too much” factor when paired with a pretty coral lipstick. This look is super-simple and the clean, fresh vibe is perfect for the office … or anywhere else, really. Get the details after the jump!

  • Chanel Le Crayon Yeux in Brun-Cuivré, $29: The unrivaled texture of this soft, silky liner is worth the extra money. It glides onto the lid beautifully, contains the kind of subtle, expensive glitter that is never chunky or bothersome, and blends to smoky perfection with the attached smudger.
  • Stila Smudge Crayon Waterproof Eye Primer + Shadow + Liner in Smoke, $22: What could be easier than a smooth shadow that doubles as a primer housed in crayon form? Hold the pencil at an angle to apply with its side for a wash of color over the whole lid.
  • CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Fairy Tale, $6.99: So deceiving — if you didn’t know any better, you’d think the luxurious moisturizing formula on this drugstore cheapie belonged to something $20 costlier, and the coral-pink shade is an exact dupe for Maria’s.
