In case you weren’t aware, after Katie Couric stepped down as anchor of the “CBS Nightly News,” she announced that she would star in a nationally syndicated talk show, and is now realeasing some details about just what that show will include. Part of the package? The now famous phrase “YOLO” (You Only Live Once).
At an ABC press event last month, Couric mentioned that she was interested in keeping her show interesting and relevant. One way she is planning to do this seems to be a segment where people YOLO, or cross items off their bucket lists with the idea that “you only live once.” For Couric, such items include: jumping out of a plane, starring in a Broadway musical and going on a date with George Clooney. Personally, I hope that I live to see the day in which Katie Couric says the phrase “YOLO” on national television and then goes on what is sure to be the world’s most awkward televised date with George Clooney.
And, to give credit where credit is due, Couric told the crowd she knows who Drake is and where the phrase YOLO comes from. Although, it may take her rapping along with him to “The Motto” to get me to tune into her new show. [NYMag.com]
