Well, that was quick! A little over a month ago, my personal Jesus, Karl Lagerfeld, announced plans to consummate the love that we’ve always known existed between him and Japanese beauty brand Shu Uemura. Karl’s been known to use Shu products in an unorthodox way: rather than sketch out his sublime designs for Chanel in pencil or pen, Karl prefers to draw with Shu products for their endless array of vivid colors. The man behind the international makeup mecca, who was a personal friend of Lagerfeld, passed away in 2007, and that ended the brand’s retail in the States. Which is yet another reason to skip the store and take to the Internet for your makeup needs (particularly, the Shu Uemura e-store). Karl Lagerfeld partnered with Shu Uemura to create his limited-edition “Noël 2012″ line, and in light of the fated partnership, Karl appropriately synthesized “Japanese pop with European chic” to birth Mon Shu Girl, the adorable cartoon character he’s chosen as the face of his cosmetics debut. She’s no Choupette, of course, but we’ll take her! [Racked]
