The thing I like best about Spotify is that I can make a playlist for every nuance of mood I might be experiencing (and I have many). This week, I’ve been listening to The Smiths a lot. Those of you who are long-time readers know that I used to be goth in high school. Back in the day, when I was feeling inky and writing tortured poetry about my unrequited crushes, the Moz was my muse. When most people listen to The Smiths, it means they’re depressed. When I listen to The Smiths, it means I’m in a really good place. Go figure.
Morrissey nerds like myself know that he hails from Manchester, England, which is famous for birthing various music movements from punk rock to “Madchester.” I made a playlist of all the dark-luscious music to emerge from this gritty, industrial town. Happy pain dancing. Enjoy after the jump!
