How many bug bites are currently on my body? Let’s just say I stopped counting and focused on scratching at 60. Naturally, I had to figure out how to stop this madness, so with the help of Google and my local CVS, here are the three best ways I’ve found to beat the itch.
1. Ice: Although it isn’t incredibly practical to walk around with a bunch of ice cubes strapped to my body, I wish that I could. In the mean time I will just sit here with my mug of Ice Tea and keep trying to freeze the itch out of the bug bite on the back of my arm when I think no one is looking.
2. Vodka: I tried this one based on internet suggestions and I was pleasantly surprised. While I feel guilty using the very nice bottle of vodka I got for my 21st birthday on my dumb bug bites, I would definitely recommend buying something cheaper and dabbing it on whenever you see fit. Although, whipping out the flask in the middle of the work day may raise a few eyebrows…
3. Benadryl Extra Strength Itch Relief Stick: Ahh, modern medicine. This stuff works too well to be ignored. I covered my body in it before I left the house this morning and the itch is just now starting to return. I don’t want to know how it works, but I’m glad that it does.
If you have any tips to help me survive this itch, please let me know! I’ll try anything.
