Most ads for luxury goods star one of many generically beautiful it girls of the moment, but Louis Vuitton’s Core Values campaign steers in a less likely direction by featuring exceptional celebrities recognized for much more than aesthetics. For the latest installment in the series, the French high-fashion house tapped legendary heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali. When one thinks “Louis Vuitton,” boxing is far from the first thing that springs to mind, but considering past stars of the campaign include Bono, Francis Ford Coppola, Sean Connery, and former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, the brand certainly doesn’t restrict itself to a certain type of image. Ali’s ad, which shows his grandson alongside him in boxing gloves, will appear in magazines beginning June 15. [Vogue UK]
